We are recruiting children ages 5 to 9 for our online study of food avoidance in young children! Continue reading below for more information about the study and how you can get involved:

Some children are very selective in the foods they eat, seem to get full very easily, and/or seem like they are not interested in food. These situations can be upsetting for both parents and children. The Food Scientists Study (DUHS Pro00103430) hopes to learn more about these children so we can reduce selective eating. If you are eligible to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete phone interviews, answer questionnaires, and video your child when being presented with different foods. We will then give you suggestions of foods to try. Parents will be provided with compensation as well as feedback about their child’s eating habits.

This study includes children ages 5 to 9. The study will be completed from home, so parents everywhere will be able to participate! Please email foodscientists@duke.edu if you are interested in participating.
